CHRIS HELME
When former Seahorses front man Chris Helme independently released his debut solo album 'The Rookery', the reaction was unexpected and unprecedented. A far cry from the Brit-pop style Chris is best known for (hit records like, Love Is The Law, Blinded By The Sun, You Can Talk to Me, Love Me and Leave Me), his latest material witnessed comparisons with Crosby Stills & Nash, The Coral and Led Zeppelin, hailing him a long overlooked, song-writing tour-de-force.

Rave reviews quickly followed from the likes of, Mojo, Uncut and The Independant and in the first week of it's release, over 3000 new fans flocked to Chris' facebook page to hear more from this presumed 'new songwriter'. Chris' ever growing audience soon discovered this much revered new album, sitting proudly alongside a back-catalogue of material still so familiar to them. This reversal in preconceptions prompted much industry attention and radio play soon followed with support from XFM, 6Music and the single 'Long Way Round' being championed by Dermot O Leary at Radio 2.

"Echoing the fragility of Gram Parsons, while flirting with the rustic side of Neil Young" - Uncut

"Dreamy but driven indie folk. Enhanced by lavishly layered productions and deftly deployed string quartet" - Q Magazine

"Sumptuous" - The Independent

"This is a gold medal record from a superb musical talent, and proof, if any were ever needed that there was more than one musical legend in the Seahorses" - Classic Rock Magazine
